Dr. Andrew Simon, ND, BCB
Naturopathic physician. Board-certified biofeedback practitioner. Clinical educator. Clinic Director of Rebel Med NW in Ballard — and a six-time Seattle Met Top Doctor.
Doctor as teacher.
Naturopathic physicians are considered the first "functional medicine" physicians — using physiology, science, and biochemistry, along with nutrition, mind-body medicine, and natural therapeutics, to create sustainable health rather than a disease-centric medical model.
Dr. Simon's intake process is about more than forms: it's about finding what goals you have so your care can move beyond disease management. As you might have a financial planner for long-term financial security, a preventive medicine physician puts you in the best position to live functionally — with minimal illness — for decades.
His approach combines four practitioner skill sets in one physician: primary care (diagnose, treat, prescribe, refer), functional medicine, physical medicine, and mind-body medicine with biofeedback.

From an idea to Rebel Med NW.
Watch — Dr. Simon on why he started Rebel Med NW
Rebel Med NW began long before its Ballard doors opened in 2018 — with Dr. Simon's solo practice, Fit Naturopathic, and years of planning alongside his partner and co-founder Dr. Phonexay Lala Simon, DAOM. The idea: one clinic where naturopathic medicine, acupuncture & East Asian medicine, physical medicine, and mind-body care actually work together — instead of in separate buildings that never talk to each other.
Today the clinic is a teaching site for residents and students, a ten-year Seattle Met Top Clinic, and the home base for the integrative primary care described on this site.
Seattle Met Top Doctor — six times.
Seattle Met Top Doctor is a peer-nominated recognition surveyed among Seattle-area medical professionals.
